WD1This is the introductory web design course at NYBI. Though designed for the beginner, those who have experience in web design will not be disappointed.

This course has three major areas of focus: HTML, and languages associated with manipulating HTML, including CSS and Javascript; Design for the Web, covering photoshop, principles of good web pages, layout techniques, and current design trends; and Flash, with a comprehensive introduction to the Flash interface and actionscript.

Students are asked to start from the beginning, and hand-code their first pages in notepad, and gradually work up to an actionscript driven Flash interface. This course is constantly adapted to the needs of the students, but adheres to the following schedule.
